Crystal Carey has been nominated for the position of General Counsel at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). The General Counsel serves as the chief prosecutor for the agency and plays a pivotal role in shaping national labor policy by determining which cases to pursue and which legal theories to advance. Carey previously served as a Board attorney at the NLRB for eight years. She is currently a partner at Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, with experience in a wide range of labor and employment matters.
Nomination Status: On December 18, 2025, the U.S. Senate confirmed Crystal Carey as the General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board by a vote of 53–43. Carey’s nomination was considered by the Senate as part of a package of 97 nominations.
