Future of Work Fellowship

This fellowship equips young professionals to advance in their careers as labor and workforce leaders ready to champion and implement labor policy reform —whether by stepping into a new role or by having greater influence and responsibility in their current organization or agency. Institute for the American Worker (I4AW) welcomes participants from the following groups: state legislators and Capitol Hill staff, government agencies, advocacy organizations, trade associations, think tanks, and policy-focused graduate students.

Program Format & Cost
The Spring 2026 Fellowship will run from April to June 2026 and is designed to accommodate the schedules and demands of working professionals. Most sessions are held virtually one or two evenings per week—on Tuesdays or Thursdays, from 7:30–9:00 PM ET. The program also includes an in-person fly-in retreat held for two days during the month of June, where fellows gather for intensive networking, hands-on learning, and a collaborative policy development exercise. (Travel costs covered by I4AW.)

In honor of launching our first class of Fellows, all program fees will be waved thanks to our generous supporters who are committed to making this opportunity accessible.

How to Apply
This is a competitive application process, and early applications are encouraged. Applications are due by Friday, March 13, 2026. Selected applicants will be invited to a brief interview following review.
