Jose Javier Rodriguez is a partner with the law firm Sugarman and Susskind and served in the Florida Senate and House of Representatives. As a lawyer, Rodriguez has represented labor unions, such as the International Longshoremen’s Association.  The Employment and Training Administration at the Department of Labor administers federal job training programs and the federal government’s involvement with state unemployment insurance programs.

Nomination Status:  Jose Javier Rodriguez was confirmed as Assistant Secretary for Employment and Training on March 21, 2024 by a vote of 50-48.
