EEOC Nominee: Kalpana Kotagal

Kalpana Kotagal is an attorney with the firm Cohen Milstein, focusing on employment law and specifically diversity, equity, and inclusion. Kotagal was also a member of the advisory committee of the “People’s Parity Project.” During her confirmation hearing on May 10, 2022, it was revealed the nominee previously retweeted a post that criticized employers that advocated against unionization.
If confirmed, Kotagal would give Democrats a majority at the EEOC later this year.
Nomination Status:The Senate HELP Committee held a confirmation hearing for Kalpana Kotagal on May 10, 2022. A committee vote has not yet been announced, nor a timeline for floor consideration.
