Hofstra University professors reach agreement to avoid strike ahead of first day of classes
September 1, 2026 // News 12 has learned that Hofstra University professors will not walk off the job on the first day of classes. The Hofstra Chapter of the American Association of University Professors says “The Hofstra AAUP and Hofstra University Administration made significant progress in contract negotiations over the weekend and reached agreement late Sunday night on several major terms.”
