Lewis Ginter ends employer-paid health coverage for strikers
October 6, 2026 // Striking workers at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden have lost their employer-paid health insurance this week, as the monthlong labor dispute between the Garden and its unionized employees continues. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, or IAM, the union representing Lewis Ginter workers, issued a statement Thursday afternoon accusing the Garden of “ripping” health insurance away from employees with four days’ notice.
