Public Employees Rally Around Labor Reform in Pennsylvania
March 15, 2022 // The Pennsylvania House Labor and Industry Committee eventually passed four of the bills that were discussed by the committee that day. The bills would: Keep public employees’ personal information private; let employees see full contracts before they’re voted on; require employers to tell public employees they have the right to choose whether or not to join or pay a union; and stop public employers from using public funds to collect political donations for the unions.

February 14, 2022 // It is illegal for any other organization or individual to use taxpayer resources for campaign politics, but government unions have an exemption from rules designed to prevent corruption. Thanks in large part to this special privilege, these unions are one of the largest, most powerful special interest groups in Pennsylvania.

January 25, 2022 // Pensylvania: Public unions silence teachers’ voices by withholding information about their rights and making it hard for them to resign their membership. I am delighted that lawmakers are focusing on legislation that will help to protect public employees like me from union officials’ abuse of power. These bills would help hold unions accountable to their members and ensure our First Amendment rights are upheld.
