    Boeing swiftly rejects union counteroffer, says striking workers likely will be ‘displaced’

    October 30, 2025 // And the head of Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) said the company's next step is to accelerate efforts to hire permanent replacement workers, "which will likely result in some striking employees being displaced." Steve Parker, president and CEO of BDS, said in a message to employees Tuesday afternoon: "We are also expanding the use of third-party support for certain jobs and assessing opportunities to streamline factory operations. And we’re welcoming back teammates who are crossing the picket line as we continue to hear from more teammates who tell us they are ready to come back to work."

    UPDATE: Union submits counteroffer after Volkswagen makes final contract public

    October 21, 2025 // The contract includes a 20% wage increase over four years, a $4,000 ratification bonus, the company’s first-ever cost-of-living allowance and lower health care costs. If approved before Oct. 31, employees would receive an additional $1,500. Employees could make nearly $80,000 each year, before overtime and benefits, according to a contract fact book released by Volkswagen. Withdrawn portions of the contract include random drug testing and a tentative agreement about onsite childcare, after disagreements on a weekly subsidy amount.
