January 25, 2022 // Workers at a West Virginia franchise of a regional fast-food restaurant on Tuesday rejected efforts to form a union that would have been the first of its kind in the state. Immediately after the vote, union organizers announced that they had filed unfair labor practice charges against the company.
Politics and Prose Bookstore Employees Move To Unionize
December 14, 2021 // If successful, Politics and Prose would become what appears to be the only bookstore in the District with a unionized workforce. Of more than 100 total employees at the brand’s three locations, organizers believe that 55 will be eligible for the union. Last week, owners said they wouldn’t recognize the union until a majority of staff voted in a formal election, which some believe buys management time to disparage unionizing.
