Forest Service offers separation incentives to employees ahead of relocations
June 4, 2026 // Schultz said the reorganization plan would shutter some facilities that have fallen into disrepair, and that it would “facilitate research and researchers over maintaining facilities and facility managers.” The spokesperson said the agency is carrying out it reorganziation to address a $3 billion maintenance backlog for its facilities and a $37 million year-over-year decrease in its budget to maintain those facilities. “We also owe the American people an agency that is effective and respectful of their hard-earned tax dollars, and that’s why we’re choosing to invest in our mission and our people instead of facilities we can’t afford,” the spokesperson said.
Amazon asks corporate staff to relocate or quit without severance

The change comes as the company continues its embrace of artificial intelligence (AI). CEO Andy Jassy even acknowledged that its work with AI will shrink its workforce over time.
GPO vacates regional offices, embraces 100% telework for all eligible employees
August 4, 2023 // In contrast to GPO’s latest decision, many executive branch agencies have started announcing upcoming increases to their requirements for employees to work in the office. Federal News Network has compiled a running list of what we know so far about agencies’ return-to-office plans. GPO is unlike other federal agencies, Somerset told Federal News Network. Consequently, the Office of Management and Budget memo from April does not apply to GPO. Still, the agency is continuing to measure productivity in its workforce, similar to executive branch agencies. “GPO runs as a business, so our primary measurement of productivity is revenue,” Somerset said in an email.
