February 6, 2025 // UFCW Local 7 members voted by 96% last week to authorize the unfair labor practices strike. King Soopers, a chain owned by Kroger, with 121 stores in Colorado and Wyoming, has been negotiating a new contract since October. The current contract expired in January.
Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE:MTN) faces new demands from four ski patrol unions
January 2, 2025 // The Keystone Ski Patrol (KSP) conducted its first collective action movement on December 18, 2024 since unionizing last season. Negotiations with Vail Resorts began in September with slow progress. KSP organized a collective action walk-in to demonstrate solidarity and the patrol’s ability to mobilize. This came during the same time where Park City Ski Patrol voted to authorize a strike against Vail Resorts for failing to engage in fair negotiations.
Park City ski patrol union officially on strike after Vail Resorts ‘refused to counteroffer’
December 30, 2024 // “Don’t buy day tickets, don’t purchase food from the lodges, don’t use Vail-owned tune and rental shops, don’t stay at Vail-owned lodging,” said Park City Professional Ski Patrol Association business manager Quinn Graves. “We are asking our community to help us tell Vail Resorts to bargain in good faith. Park City Mountain mechanics, electricians followed path to union
November 28, 2022 // When Park City Mountain lift mechanics and electricians voted Tuesday to unionize, they embarked on the same path taken by ski patrollers at their resort and others in the western United States, to negotiate for better wages and working conditions through collective bargaining. In a 35-6 vote, the workers became what are believed to be the first unionized ski resort mechanics in the country. The election was conducted by the National Labor Relations Board, with voting taking place Monday and Tuesday.
