Nurses file unfair labor charges against Teamsters Local 332 amid ongoing strike
April 22, 2026 // According to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), some nurses have filed unfair labor charges against their union, Teamsters Local 332. Charges were filed on March 31, April 10, and April 14. They claim the Union violated the National Labor Relations Act, and they claim a violation of employee rights specific to a picketing or strike action as well as allegations of related harassment and coercion.

Democrat & Chronicle workers end strike without reaching contract deal with Gannett
April 26, 2024 // In a statement posted to X, a spokesperson for the Newspaper Guild of Rochester says they are going back to work Thursday morning despite not reaching a deal. According to the union, the two sides negotiated Wednesday and had a possible agreement, but the union claims Gannett had inserted language that changed the meaning of the contract. They say they’ve lost faith in Gannett’s willingness to bargain in good faith and plan to file complaints with the National Labor Relations Board.

Chicago teachers file unfair labor charge against teachers union
April 14, 2023 // Several rank-and-file members of the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) officially filed an unfair labor practice charge against the union for allegedly funneling membership dues to the union’s political action committee (PAC) without their approval. The money was used to support CTU-endorsed mayoral candidate Brandon Johnson. The CTU’s Members First Caucus filed the complaint with the Illinois’ Educational Labor Relations Board and demanded that the dues payments to PACs stop immediately. The caucus noted the complaint filing is not about politics, rather it is over CTU’s alleged deceit to funnel their union membership dues to a mayoral candidate that the caucus members do not support.
