Union-registered nurses issue notice on possible strike at Henry Ford Genesys
August 23, 2025 // The Teamsters Local 332 president representing them posted a video on Facebook Wednesday night announcing 93% of members voted the company’s contract offer down. Thursday, Aug. 21, the union issued a 10 day notice, threatening to strike on Sept. 1. The union and the hospital been working to negotiate a new contract since April.
Union, hospital face more lawsuits from Michigan nurse over dues
August 23, 2024 // Madrina Wells, from Grand Blanc Township, had already sued Ascension Genesys Hospital and Teamsters in July, accusing them of threatening to fire her and a coworker for not signing forms authorizing the union to deduct dues from their paychecks. Now, Wells is filing additional complaints against those organizations for deducting union dues out of her paycheck anyway, without her providing the consent forms.

August 20, 2024 // "I already had issues with Teamsters bosses’ illegally demanding money from me when Right to Work was in force,” commented Madrina Wells. “Back then, I at least knew that I was defending my right to pay nothing at all to Teamsters bosses I disapprove of. It’s ridiculous that rather than comply with my rights, Teamsters Local 332, now with the assistance of my employer, have violated Federal law once again by deducting dues from my paycheck without my consent.”

July 23, 2024 // Two nurses at Ascension Genesys have filed unfair labor practice charges against their union, Teamsters Local 332. The nurses allege that union leaders told them if they didn't sign paperwork that would deduct dues from their paycheck, they would lose their jobs.
