2,200 Prime Healthcare nurses, workers to strike across 3 states
August 25, 2026 // Nurses at the 361-bed Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital also held a one-day strike June 11, before the union election. Prime acquired the hospital and seven others from St. Louis-based Ascension in a deal completed in March 2025. Most of the workers involved in the September strikes have struck previously, the union said.

July 8, 2024 // Disneyland’s largest union coalition took its fight for a pay raise to the streets by handing out Mickey Mouse raised fist buttons to visitors entering the Anaheim theme park. Disneyland union employees distributed buttons on Monday, July 1 with the Disney icon’s white gloved hand raised in a fist as a symbol of fighting oppression and asked arriving theme park visitors to sign a petition in support of union contract negotiations seeking fair wages. Cast members, Disney parlance for employees, handed out the buttons with Mickey’s cartoon fist at the corner of Harbor Boulevard and Disney Way while wearing their theme park uniforms.
Disneyland character performers vote to unionize

There are more than 21,000 Disneyland “cast member” employees, who are represented by more than a dozen unions. Those unionized jobs include workers in retail, food service, security, pyrotechnic, and hair and makeup.
