The health system said it ended last year with a $53 million loss and the Teamsters’ proposals would “further contribute to that unsustainable financial model, jeopardizing our ability to continue to care for the community.”

November 4, 2025 // Educators at HACC Central Pennsylvania's Community College are on strike after stalled contract negotiations and no salary increases since unionizing in 2022. The strike, which began following 13 hours of failed talks last week, drew support from students, educators, and community members, but has left many students without instructors on Monday.

October 14, 2025 // Eighty-five percent of members who belong to the newsroom’s union and participated in the vote opted to allow the labor group to call a strike. The union, a Local of the Media Guild of the West, represents more than 200 reporters, editors, photographers, designers and others at L.A.’s hometown paper. Boeing and the union returned to the bargaining table on Monday with the inclusion of a federal mediator to help provide a new avenue to resolve the ongoing dispute. On Tuesday, the union modified its proposed offer to the company.
Denver library staff fight to unionize amid budget cuts
September 29, 2025 // Many library workers on Wednesday said library staffers are burning out from huge workloads, including caring for homeless or immigrant patrons. “A lot of people know that a lot of library staff are not fairly compensated,” said Jeremey Bongers, an activities coordinator at the library. “There's a lot of the work that people are doing in the vein of social work that is not recognized.”

Striking Boeing workers reject latest offer
September 15, 2025 // On Wednesday, the IAM Union District 837 Negotiating Committee announced a five-year tentative agreement had been reached with Boeing Defense. Friday morning, union members voted against the tentative agreement at St. Louis Music Park, with 57% of members rejecting the contract. According to Boeing, the rejected offer would have increased the average wage for union workers from $75,000 to $109,000. The contract also would have increased from a four-year deal to a five-year deal, and included a ratification bonus of $4,000.
New Seasons workers at store on Woodstock dump union
September 10, 2025 // Workers at the Woodstock New Seasons Market store voted to go non-union in a 33-33 vote tallied Aug. 20. The store at 4500 SE Woodstock Blvd., Portland, had been the third location of the upscale grocer to join New Seasons Labor Union (NSLU) when workers unionized in December 2022.
Evergreen school employees strike as districts across the Northwest start heading back to class
