    Education and Workforce Committee Passes 3 Bills to Expand Flexibility, Boost Earnings, and Hasten Back Pay

    November 25, 2025 // On Thursday, the House Education and Workforce Committee passed three bills to boost flexibility, wages, and efficiency for workers. These three bills would modernize the 1938 Fair Labor Standards Act to provide flexibility for workers, simplicity for tipped employees, and more efficient resolutions to payroll errors. Importantly, none of these provisions will cost taxpayers a single dime because they simply remove unnecessary barriers to flexibility and higher pay. In fact, at least one of the bills would likely save taxpayers from unnecessary administrative costs.

    Minimum wage increasing in nearly half of states, including Nebraska

    January 14, 2025 // The minimum wage will increase in nearly half the states this year even as the federal wage floor remains stuck at $7.25 per hour. In many states, the minimum wage is automatically adjusted upward as inflation rises. But voters in several states, including deeply red ones such as Nebraska, Alaska and Missouri, chose in November to significantly increase their minimum wages this year.

    Lambeau Field workers win first union contract

    November 7, 2024 // The beer vendors are employed by Delaware North, the food and beverage provider for the stadium. The Milwaukee Area Service & Hospitality Workers Union, or MASH, represents more than 90 people who serve beer and other beverages at Lambeau. The union said 88 percent of the vendors voted to approve a tentative three-year collective bargaining agreement that was negotiated with Delaware North.
