May 4, 2026 // Employees of Herbal Wellness Center have officially freed themselves from unwanted Teamsters Local 413 union bosses after the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Regional Director of Region 9 revoked the Teamsters’ certification as the workers’ exclusive monopoly “representative.” The workers’ effort was spearheaded by dispensary employee Todd Cooper, who filed a petition for his coworkers with the NLRB last November seeking a “decertification” election to end the presence of Local 413 union officials at their workplace.
Potential Falsehoods by the Teamsters Create Opening for Reliable Union Elections
March 30, 2026 // Because in later testimony, BTS employees testified that the lead organizer who claims he was on site soliciting cards on April 23 was never there. Nor, workers testified, were any cards at all signed that day. In addition, there were only 40 drivers on hand that morning, not 46. And finally, BTS employed more than 91 drivers and dispatchers, meaning that, even if 46 cards had been signed, that would not constitute a majority. Therefore, if the workers’ testimony is correct, the majority needed to form a union did not exist.

July 6, 2024 // Just a few hours after the court’s ruling dropped late last week, allowing both ballot measures to proceed, the Massachusetts attorney general made an announcement of her own. She agreed to a deal that will let Uber and Lyft drivers in Massachusetts remain independent contractors, with a minimum hourly wage of $32.50 and some benefits. Interestingly, the attorney general’s announcement noted that the deal averts giving the people of Massachusetts a chance to vote on the matter:
Union workers rally against Smart & Final warehouse closures
May 20, 2024 // Teamster Local 630 members rallied outside the headquarters of Chedraui USA, parent company of Smart & Final, in Commerce, Calif., in response to the company’s decision to close unionized warehouses. The grocery chain plans to close two Smart & Final warehouses, one in Commerce and the other in Riverside, Calif. The union said in a press release that Chedraui is giving workers at the two locations the option to reapply for employment at $10 to $12 less than the current wage at a warehouse in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.
As many as 20 arrested as teamster unions swarm Sysco plant during drivers strike
October 18, 2022 // According to police, the union members blocked both entrances to the facility with tractor-trailers for more than two hours, making it impossible for any of the 100 workers in the facility to leave. After failing to negotiate with them, "we had to respond by removing members of the crowd who were inciting a hostile picket line," police said. The arrests range from disorderly conduct to assault and battery.
