Union bosses remain hostile to MAGA
September 3, 2026 // Today, unions are banking on garnering enough Republican support to pass an anti-business Faster Labor Contracts Act. That legislation would strip workers of their right to vote on the terms and conditions of their employment if an agreement can’t be locked down over a few months. The legislation gives government bureaucrats the power to force workers and employers into union contracts while further expanding the size and power of the federal government. The legislation could also force workers and employers to adopt DEI programs, block immigration enforcement, and impose transgender policies. Given the long history of union leadership opposing Republican candidates and the Trump Agenda, it makes zero sense for Republicans to support legislation that would give even more power and money to union bosses.
Clovis Unified’s ASL interpreters reach first union deal, despite some pay concerns
August 18, 2026 // The contract comes at a time when the Association of Clovis Educators (ACE), which is backed by the California Teachers Association and helped to organize interpreters’ unionization, is vying to be the exclusive representative of Clovis Unified’s teachers. The district is closer than ever to ending its 66-year “union-free” history as the other major group, Independent Clovis Unified Educators (ICUE), gathered enough signatures and filed a union petition with the state in July.
Cargill meatpackers in Fort Morgan expected to take another vote on contract they rejected
August 14, 2026 // Workers have been locked out of the beef-processing plant for nearly 85 days but things got worse after union strike pay was reduced. After workers rejected a Cargill Meat Solutions contract last week, reality hit the more than 1,700 unemployed meatpackers who’ve been locked out of the Fort Morgan plant for nearly 85 days. Now, a worker-led effort to take another vote on a contract has received enough signatures for the union to consider it.

January 7, 2026 // The school district includes 50 schools and learning centers and is staffed by 3,200 teachers, counselors, social workers and nurses. In the press release Wednesday, Anoka-Hennepin Schools stated that 82% of the district's operating budget goes to personnel costs.
Workers Reject Boeing’s Latest Offer After Nearly Three Months on Strike
October 28, 2025 // “To fund the increases in this offer, we had to make trade-offs,” including reduced hourly wage increases tied to attendance and certain shift work, Boeing Vice President Dan Gillian said in a message to workers on Thursday. IAM leaders have pressed the planemaker for higher retirement plan contributions and a ratification bonus closer to the $12,000 that Boeing gave to union members on strike last year in the company’s commercial airplane division in the Pacific Northwest.

September 11, 2025 // Labor leaders reached a tentative agreement with Boeing that could resolve a strike in the aviation giant's defense business, the union announced Wednesday. Some 3,200 workers in Missouri and Illinois are set to vote Friday on a preliminary agreement that includes wage increases, said a press release from the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union.

July 29, 2025 // Union members who assemble Boeing's (BA.N), opens new tab fighter jets in the St. Louis area have "overwhelmingly voted" to reject the company's contract offer on Sunday, with the company now preparing for an imminent strike. Boeing's proposal, which was sent on Tuesday to more than 3,200 members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) District 837, included a 20% general wage increase over four years and a $5,000 ratification bonus, as well as more vacation time and sick leave.
Cummins workers in Oshkosh remain on strike after rejecting latest labor package via union vote
June 4, 2025 // Cummins workers in Oshkosh rejected the latest contract offer, extending their strike to more than three months. The main points of contention include the expired contract, temporary worker language and mandatory Saturdays. Negotiations between Cummins and UAW Local 291 are scheduled to resume at the end of June. The Oshkosh plant employs 129 workers, a small fraction of Cummins' global workforce of approximately 75,500.
‘We deserve more’: USPS union members vote to reject contract agreement

August 26, 2024 // According to a spokesperson for the union, workers feel that management has not acknowledged the difficult work employees performed through COVID-19 to keep the university running. The four-year contract would have provided a 3%raise. When juxtaposed with the university's $1.85 billion endowment and the recent rise in total enrollment costs to $88,000 per year per student, union members felt it was an unfair proposal.
